I feel my lesson plan on word choice went relatively well. I tried to follow the steps of an effective lesson plan. My introduction was personal and allowed students to offer their thoughts. I provided a guided activity to show how natural word choice can develop character. I then did an activity intended to make the students think about what word they could use instead of said when writing dialog. My stuttering and pauses were due to a lack of confidence in the content. I think if I had a better understanding of the topic I would have been able to transition between activities more fluidly. I would imagine more practice and classroom experience will help my stage presence. The only time I smiled was when I was laughing.
